DARK CLOUDS ARE GATHERING OVER SYRIA
Challenges of the XXI Century
Analytical material by the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the AUCPB
It's only been two years since the bloody aggression ended by the imperialist predators - the U.S., Britain, France and their allies against Libya. It ended in a bloodbath: 50,000 dead, hundreds of thousands of wounded and maimed and more than a million refugees, the economy and infrastructure of the country completely destroyed, and Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi brutally murdered. And all of this in order to take full control of the oil wealth of the country and to bring to power a puppet anti-peoples anti-national government, fully controlled by the West.
But the imperialist robbers led by the United States, and its closest ally and chained dog of the Middle East, Israel , have not calmed down. In order to establish full control of Zionist - American capital of the region of North Africa and the Middle East, along with its oil and gas resources, standing in the way of the US- Israel - NATO is Syria, a country that is being led by a true son of the Syrian people, Bashar al-Assad.
For the past two and half years, a civil war has been raging in Syria, unleashed and foreign imposed. As a result, dozens of towns and cities have been destroyed along with tens of thousands of deaths, and nearly 7 million people (about one third of the population of Syria ) have lost a roof over their heads, began to internally displaced persons and refugees – and 2 million people forced to flee to neighbouring countries in order to save the lives of their children and loved ones.
Bashar Assad at the very beginning of the internal conflict said that in Syria there is not a civil war, but a war against terrorism and support of terrorism from outside. He also said that he had no problem with the people, because without the support of the Syrian people, he could not remain at his post.
A chronicle of the conflict.
The first anti-government protests in Syria began on 26 January 2011 and were mostly random and sporadic. These protests began on the same scenario as similar protests in Tunisia and Egypt.
Mass demonstrations began to unfold on March 15, 2011, when several hundred people responded to the call of social networks and took to the streets of Damascus to demand reforms and a fight against corruption. The next day there was another demonstration. Three days later began demonstrations in Daraa, which for the first time joined the Islamists . Soon a series of demonstrations took place in other Syrian cities . Clashes with the police occurred, accompanied by acts of vandalism and arson. There were people wounded, and one of the first to be killed by the forces of law and order.
The slogans and demands of the protesters, the forms and methods of struggle that began at the call of social networks, showed that behind the opposition stood the same foreign forces that stood behind the events in Tunisia and Egypt. The U.S. imperialists and their NATO allies, as well as Israel continued a policy of "reformatting" the Middle East, fuelling inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflicts and guiding them in a direction useful for themselves. In particular, a factor that was used was that the ruling elite are mainly members of the Alawite Shiite community, while the majority of the Muslim population of Syria are Sunnis.
(The vast majority of the population are Syrian Arabs. Around 90 % of them by faith are Muslims and 10% - Christians. Kurds form the largest ethnic minority, accounting for about 9 % of the population and professing Sunni Islam. Armenians share of 2-3 %, and they profess Christianity. Syria is also home to Turkmen and Circassians who profess Islam. Approximately 80-85 % of Muslims are Sunni, 13-15 % - Alawites, about 1% - Ismailis and less than 1 % - Shiites. Approximately 3 % of Syrians belong to the Druze sect. The Orthodox and Armenian Gregorian church have greatest influence among Syria's Christians).
President Bashar Assad made certain concessions to the opposition, dismissed the government and replaced by the prime minister, but the growth of violence continued to escalate.
The fact that the imperialist West is standing behind the opposition became clear on May 9 2011, when the EU imposed sanctions on Syria, and on 28 November the same year introduced additional sanctions.
The opposition, with the support of the West, began to institutionalize.
On June 19, 2011 the opposition announced the creation of a National Council and declared itself as the country’s alternative government. On October 4, 2011, in Istanbul the Syrian National Council was established. On November 11, 2012 in Doha, Qatar, he establishment of the Syrian National Coalition was announced, comprising the Syrian National Council . The next day, the U.S. State Department expressed support for the Syrian national coalition, thereby legitimizing in the eyes of the West the Syrian opposition forces. On the same day, the countries of the Council of Cooperation of Gulf States on declared their recognition of the Syrian national coalition as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people. And the legitimization of Syrian National Coalition was completed on November 19, 2012, when the foreign ministers of the 27 EU countries announced their recognition of the coalition as "legitimate representatives of the aspirations of the Syrian people."
To form an organized nature of warfare aimed at overthrowing the legitimate government of the country, on July 29, 2011 the establishment of the Free Syrian Army was announced, composed mostly of foreign mercenaries, rebels and bandits. In July 2012 after his release from capture by insurgents in areas of Homs and Aleppo, a Syrian senior officer said that his country is actually fighting against invaders and terrorists from all over the world, and that during the fighting were found the bodies of militants from Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Somalia, and Saudi Arabia. Fighting on the side of the opposition were also Chechen rebels and Crimean Tatars.
On November 28, 2012 the Syrian government published in the newspaper «Al-Watan» the names of 142 terrorists from 18 countries who were killed in the fighting, including Saudis, Libyans, Tunisians, Egyptians, Qatari, Lebanese, Afghans, Turks, Chechens, Chadian and Azerbaijani. Most of the terrorists belong to the "Al- Qaeda" network or joined Convention after their arrival in Syria. More than 100 Australian citizens of Arab origin took part in the fighting in Syria. In April 2013, information was announced that some 100 British citizens, as many French people, about 50 residents of the Netherlands and Belgian nationals and other people of foreign countries were fighting on the side of the opposition.
Many Syrian rebels are being trained in neighbouring countries of Syria. Thus, according to Lebanese officials, the country has at least two training camps for Syrian "rebels".
The Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said on April 27, 2013 at a meeting with Vice -Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Ilyas Umakhanov that the basis of the Syrian opposition is formed of armed troops from 29 countries. The share of foreigners in the rebel mass amounts to 85%. There is practically a mini world war underway there.
Western countries provide the fighters from the Syrian Free Army with arms and training. For example, in November 2011, Iranian Press TV channel reported that France had sent their own instructors to the Syrian free army. At the end of January 2012 the Syrian government news agency SANA reported that gunmen had used weapons made in Israel, in particular, the militants had captured machine guns and grenades, made in Israel. In March 2013 near Damascus, the Syrian army detained a truck loaded with a lot of Israeli-made weapons including shells, hand-held rocket launchers, body armour, communications and military binoculars. The militants were also provide with Saudi grenade launchers, communications equipment and personal protective equipment made in France, etc. At the same time, representatives of the U.S. State Department and other Western countries strongly protest when defensive weapons made in Russia are made available to the government troops in Syria.
In an interview with the Russian TV channel Russia 24, Bashar al-Assad said of the Syrian Free Army, "in the first place, it is not an army, and it is not free. They are provided with weapons and money from abroad. So no they are not free, it's a bunch of criminals ... There are religious extremists of the al- Qaeda type, with the same way of thinking - terrorist." There are foreign mercenaries from different countries, mostly Arab.
The conflict in Syria is becoming increasingly international, and it is sucking in other countries.
Israel.
One of the closest and most loyal allies of the U.S. in the Middle East is Israel. In June 1967, Israel during one Israeli- Arab conflict, committed an act of aggression against Syria. Israeli aircraft bombed major Syrian companies and the refinery complex in Homs, which caused enormous damage to the economy of Syria. Israeli troops invaded and occupied Syria's Golan Heights.
In recent times, Israel continues to pursue an aggressive military policy against independent Syria, seeking to fully annex this independent Arab state or bring to power treacherous puppet forces completely controlled by Zionist - American capital.
In 2007, before the start of the events, Israeli warplanes invaded Syrian airspace and fired several shells at the Syrian border province of Deir Zor. Syria filed a complaint to the UN Security Council on the violation of its airspace by Israeli Air Force but was left without an adequate response. As it turned out, the target of the attack was a Syrian nuclear reactor.
In the course of the inspired and unleashed from outside internecine slaughter in Syria, Israel today continues to strike at targets in this independent and rebellious country.
According to the Syrian side, on January 30, 2013 the Israeli Air Force attacked the military research center "Dzhamrayya" to the north- west of Damascus. As a result, two people were killed and 5 people injured. Syrian President Assad accused Israel of attempting to destabilize the country. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki –moon and Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil al-Arabi were forced to condemn this blatant Israeli military aggression. At first, Israeli officials remained silent, but later, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the air strike "confirms the seriousness of his country not to allow the transfer of Syrian weapons to militants in Lebanon," and that Syria should not be "right to export to Lebanon advanced weapons systems." In defence of its ally the United States acted immediately, stating that the purpose of the Israeli raid was a column of trucks carrying anti-aircraft missile systems of Russian production from Syria to Lebanon to the organization "Hezbollah."
That is to say, Israel, and the U.S. standing behind it have the right to pursue an aggressive and coordinated military policy in the region and the Arab countries should be denied that same thing, according to the US -Israeli hawks, any right to self-defence.
In early May of this year, the Israeli Air Force again attacked targets in Syria. As a result of this armed robbery, about 300 Syrian soldiers were killed and hundreds injured. Air strikes were inflicted on the areas in which were housed two of the Presidential Guard Brigade. In addition, weapons stores were attacked along with the military research centre "Dzhamrayya." According to unofficial data, the purpose of Israel's air strike were to destroy "Fateh-110" missiles made in Iran, presumably intended for the Lebanese Shiite group "Hezbollah". Immediately after the air strikes, militants attacked the affected areas, i.e. the actions of the "rebels" and the Israel Defence Forces were coordinated. This air-strike was condemned by the Egyptian authorities, the Russian Foreign Ministry and even the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who said that no cause can justify such an operation.
On May 16, 2013, a senior official of the Israel Defence Forces told the newspaper The New York Times, in the case of attempts to transfer modern weapons to terrorists, attacks on Syria will continue, and as a result, the Syrian regime could collapse.
Turkey.
NATO member Turkey is the closest U.S. ally in the region. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly and firmly supports the U.S. plans to attack Syria. This is not surprising. Turkey in the Middle East has its own strategic interests, namely, in an attempt to revive "the great Ottoman Empire," part of which for four centuries was Syria, which was the province at the time of Turkey.
On June 22, 2012, a Turkish RF-4E fighter was shot down by Syrian air defences over the Mediterranean Sea. Damascus said that the plane was shot down after it flew into Syrian airspace, but the Turkish authorities deny this, claiming that the aircraft remained in international airspace.
In October and November 2012, Turkish- Syrian relations deteriorated sharply. Because of the fighting with the Syrian government forces with guerrilla groups of the opposition which are conducted near the Turkish border, artillery shells fall from Syria into Turkey, killing and injuring people. Despite statements by Syria to investigate this issue (it is clear that the government of Syria has no interest in an aggravation of relations with Turkey. This is beneficial only to military organizations of the opposition armed by the West and serving the imperialist West, and the Turkish armed forces who are responsible for retaliatory artillery fire on Syrian territory.
Using the pretext of the downed plane, on November 19, 2012, Turkey applied to the leadership of NATO to provide the "Patriot"air defence system to strengthen its position on the border with Syria. On December 4, the NATO Council decided to allocate Turkey six batteries of SAM "Patriots" (two batteries - the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands ), which in January of this year have been deployed near the Turkish border with Syria.
Thus, Turkey is strenuously preparing for war against Syria.
On January 10, 2013, the Government of Syria accused Turkey of the robbery of Aleppo, at companies where were illegally dismantled and transported to Turkey 1,500 industrial and pharmaceutical pieces of equipment.
The Lebanese newspaper "Al- Diyar" in one of the articles said that the Turkish authorities are killing the wounded Syrians caught up in Turkey, and then confiscate their body organs. After the wounded boys and girls are admitted to hospital in Turkey, they are given a soporific injection, and then their kidneys, liver, heart and sometimes even their eyeballs are removed from their bodies. The newspaper called this a heinous crime and urged the United Nations and all international human rights organizations to investigate these facts.
Jordan.
On August 11, 2012, a skirmish broke out on the border of Syria and Jordan, which involved armoured units and troops of the two countries. Fighting broke out in the district of Tel Shihab - Turra, where it was the last time refugees from Syrian cities could cross the border with Jordan.
According to Iran's Press TV agency in early June 2013 in the Jordanian port of Aqaba, thousands of U.S. Marines of the 26th Expeditionary Unit arrived, which were then transferred to the Syrian- Jordanian border.
The U.S. also sent to Jordan SAM "Patriots" , which will be placed on the border with Syria, reported on June 3, 2013 the agency Agence France-Presse, citing an official statement by the Pentagon.
According to media reports from Saudi Arabia on 23.06.2013, Jordan transported through its territory a large shipment of armoured vehicles designated for the opposition forces. Sources in the Ministry of Defence of Jordan noted that there were about 100 modern tanks, large quantities of ammunition and other types of weapons. In addition, Jordan has strengthened its units stationed on the border with Syria, using infantry and armoured units.
Lebanon.
Internecine and sectarian clashes in Syria, fired up by external forces have spread to Lebanon.
In particular, on 20 March 2013, clashes broke out between armed Alawite and Sunni factions in Tripoli in northern Lebanon. The Lebanese army intervened in the events. In May, these clashes have been compounded .
Mortar and rocket attacks on Lebanese villages have begun. Thus, on May 31 in the area of a cross-border settlement in Wali Khad burst of at least 12 rockets were fired from Syria. On June 1 at least five rockets exploded near the Lebanese village of Sureyn. Responsibility for these two missile bombardment was taken by the Syrian rebels who said they would attack targets in Lebanon as long as the "Hezbollah" will not withdraw from Syria all of its militants.
On June 15, according to the TV channel " Al- Mahdia," the Lebanese city of Baalbek was shelled by Syria. On the outskirts of the city exploded at least six missiles and two civilians were injured. The shelling occurred following a televised speech by the leader of “Hezbollah” Hassan Nasrallah, in which he said that his fighters would support the regime of Bashar al-Assad until victory.
Participation in the war by the Shiite organization "Hezbollah."
In May 2013, Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the militant Lebanese Shiite organization "Hezbollah", recognized in a number of Western countries as a terrorist organization (a "terrorist " because it is carrying on a relentless armed struggle against the aggressive expansionist policy of Israel) , for the first time publicly acknowledged that its militants were involved in the fighting in Syria on the side of the government troops.
Earlier, on February 5, 2012 one of the leaders of "Hezbollah " in an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al- Raya", said: "Our organization will not allow the fall of the government of Bashar al-Assad, who is our strategic partner. If necessary, we will start a war against the Zionist occupiers."
According to S. Sheikh , the head of «Brookings Doha Center», on the side of the Assad regime in Syria are fighting 5,000 insurgents of "Hezbollah" and another 5,000 are ready to join them.
Iran.
On June 16, 2013 the Iranian government decided to send to Syria four thousand fighters of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution Corps' " in support of President Bashar al-Assad.
Iraq.
In March 2013 during the battle for Yaarubiya, located at a checkpoint at the junction of the borders of Syria, Iraq and Turkey, a group of Syrian government troops was pushed out onto the territory of Iraq. The Iraqi government provided them with assistance and decided to escort the Syrians to their homeland. On March 4, convoy came under attack formed of a group of militants of the Islamic State of Iraq, and in the battle, dozens of Syrian military and 9 of the Iraqi security forces were killed. The Iraqi Defence Ministry called the incident an "attack on the sovereignty of the country", and the representative of the Iraqi Prime Minister said that the Syrian conflict has shifted to Iraq.
The final stage of preparation for aggression.
In August, a team was sent to Syria, made up of UN observers to sort out the issue of the possible use of chemical weapons in the ongoing fighting.
And in the midst of the UN Observer work on August 21, there were reports of the use of chemical weapons which, allegedly, killed hundreds of civilians in Syria.
The U.S. immediately without waiting for the findings of the commission, accused Assad of using chemical weapons, completely ignoring the conclusions of Russian experts that at the beginning of the summer, Sarin was used by militants who were preparing homemade chemical munitions.
Already on July 18, 2013 the Pentagon had provided the U.S. administration with options for using military force in Syria.
In late August, a relocation was made by the United States naval units closer to Syria to prepare a military strike against Syria in case the president of the United States made such a decision.
Finally, on August 31, U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the U.S. Congress for support to begin operations in Syria. Congress was to consider the matter on September 9.
But on September 3, leaders of the U.S. Congress supported an attack on Syria. On September 5th, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate approved a military operation in Syria , offering to limit it to 60 days. On September 8 at the Pentagon a plan for air operations was drawn up for air-strikes against 50 strategic objectives in Syria, and the whole operation given 72 hours to complete.
At a meeting in St. Petersburg at the G- 20 summit, the U.S. position was supported by 11 countries, including Canada, France, Japan, United Kingdom, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and later they were joined by Germany. The position of Russia and China, are in favour of a political solution to the problem without military intervention, especially without the sanction of the UN Security Council, and were supported by eight countries.
It should be noted that the majority of the population of the world, including the U.S., Britain and France oppose any military intervention in the internal affairs of Syria. The British Parliament has even banned the prime minister of the country David Cameron from using the armed forces in a possible conflict.
But it is thought, that no public opinion, which in the majority is against any acts of military aggression against Syria, nor the decision of the British Parliament will not stop the aggressors.
Imperialism, plunging ever deeper into the financial and economic crisis, which calls into question its very existence, can not live without war.
The issue will be decided in the next few days or even hours.
We should not forget that after Syria, it will be Iran’s turn, so that the pathway of oil in the Persian Gulf can be put under the full control of American and international multinational corporations.
A further along the way will be Russia, with its untold wealth which attracts the predatory eyes of the Western imperialists.
The peoples of Russia, and all peace-loving peoples of the world must unite in the struggle against imperialism, against the impending World War III.

NO TO MILITARY INTERVENTION IN SYRIA! NO TO A GLOBAL CATASTROPHE!
Documents of the Central Committee of the AUCPB
09.09.2013
Statement by the Central Committee of the AUCPB
The majority of citizens in the United States, besides the U.S. government do not want military intervention in Syria. A military intervention in Syria, according to surveys, is only supported by 12% of Americans. Also against U.S. military aggression and the participation of their own countries in the war, are up to 68 % of French people, 77 % of Germans and most people around the world. In five cities across the U.S. there have been protests, including a picket of two hundred people at the walls of the White House in Washington. An unprecedented phenomenon was the protest of military personnel against a new imperialist war. So, the soldiers and officers of the 193rd Rocket Artillery Brigade in the Greek city of Elefteropuli issued an open letter in which they demanded non-participation of Greece in the Syrian venture. Dozens of U.S. military service personnel put up on social networks their own photos with improvised placards against a war in Syria. "I didn’t join the Navy to fight for "Al-Qaeda", "I do not want to be involved in the civil war in Syria", "Leave Syria alone!", they wrote. "Sailors , see what your comrades think of Obama's alliance with "Al- Qaeda" against Syria" - a call not to fight in Syria posted on the official website of the U.S. Navy.
For the imperialist forces, an incursion into Syria is the last salvation from total economic and political collapse. The capitalist economy is falling apart, the bourgeois governments in panic are unfurling a few social programs, corporations, are stopping factories under the pretext of their "loss", and throwing out thousands of people. The indignation of the working people is rolling on, and all over the world are organized mass protests and strikes. The capitalists respond to them with bullets and tear gas.
The imperialist government of Barack Obama is trying to extinguish the anger of American workers, pouring over it the blood of the Syrian people, while sending an unconscious hatred of capitalism over to the image of a "foreign enemy." ( Hypocrisy because Syria never threatened and does not threaten U.S. security.) By their preparations for war, the imperialist governments, and U.S. satellites, only create new pockets of protest, generate resentment and hatred that will lead eventually to the total collapse of imperialism.
It is clear that the U.S. government is preparing not just another intervention in a weaker state to seize its natural resources and markets – it is also preparing for a new world war .
Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the "Big -20 in St. Petersburg (5-6 September), expressed support by Russia for Syria in the U.S.-Syria conflict. On the one hand, to a certain extent this is delayed aid to the Syrian people and opposition to U.S. aggression, and on the other - to protect the interests of the Russian big bourgeoisie, which has its business in Syria. ( Russia has big contracts for the supply of arms to that country). It would be good to believe that the Russian leadership did not make a deal with the United States, agreeing to replace Bashar al-Assad for a U.S. stooge, which is so pressing for Barack Obama. Although the bourgeoisie has internationalized and, as a rule, always stands united in any international conflict.
In Syria, there are stocks of chemical weapons, and a nuclear research centre. American bombings could lead to radiation and chemical contamination of vast areas of the planet, and disruption for many years to the ecological balance. The consequences would be disastrous for the world. The fact that the chemical and atomic centres of Syria will become targets U.S. Air Force, there can be no doubt - several years earlier, the U.S. government declared its readiness to bomb a nuclear research centre and a nuclear power plant in Iran.
The main task for today 's progressive forces of the world and Russia is to prevent intervention in Syria, to prevent a global catastrophe. On the preparation by the imperialists of a new world war, the workers of all countries and continents are to respond with a strong growth unity and solidarity, and if war starts - to direct the anger of the peoples against the governments who started it.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 - THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE DPRK
On September 9th, Socialist Korea marks the 65th anniversary since the founding of the state – The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
After Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule (on August 15, 1945.) on the agenda of the nation stood the establishment of a unified Korean state. In accordance with previous arrangements after Korea's liberation from the Japanese, Soviet troops which took part in the liberation of Korea were withdrawn from its territory. In North Korea, the Communists came to power. In the late winter of 1946, the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea was formed. Chairman of the committee was Kim Il Sung. The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung made great efforts to create a single state on the territory liberated from the Japanese. But this went contrary to the plans of the United States, strongly unwilling to see a communist outpost in North- East Asia.
The American troops who landed on September 6, 1945 in Incheon, announced the creation on the territory south of the 38th parallel of an American military government and started the construction of U.S. military bases in South Korea.
In early May 1948, hurriedly in the south of the peninsula under the auspices of the Americans, elections were held, resulting in the parliament being elected. The parliament adopted a constitution and elected the first president - U.S. puppet Syngman Rhee and the territory proclaimed the Republic of Korea. The American military government ceased to function on August 15, 1948, but did not mean that Americans were no longer command in South Korea, where they dictate their will to this day.
In the northern part of Korea after the elections to the supreme legislative body of the September 9, 1948, the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ), headed by Prime Minister Kim Il Sung was announced.
So, at the behest of the U.S. imperialists, the Korean peninsula was divided along the 38th parallel into two states, and the nation - into two parts. In the South of Korea were many North Koreans who during the Japanese colonization were exported there to Japanese forced slave labour and dreaming for Korea's liberation from the Japanese and to reunite separated families.
Because of strong opposition from the pro-American government of the Republic of Korea - U.S. obedient loyal puppets, despite the great desire of the Korean nation itself, the issue of family reunification is still not resolved and remains a painful issue in Korea.
In the DPRK after its proclamation, the construction of the new socialist state began in which the spotlight of the country is the working man. Working people’s rights are written into the Constitution, which guarantees the right to work, to free secondary and higher education, housing, quality health care, recreation and a host of other rights granted by the socialist state.
For the past 65 years, the DPRK has made great strides in its development, by becoming a State independently of the outside world to successfully accelerate the development of its economy. The state has created a missile shield to protect itself against the aggressive policy of the United States. The state has raised high its authority in the political arena of the world. The state with which the U.S. has to reckon with, and throughout all these past years has repeatedly made all sorts of threatening acts of provocation and unimaginable military exercises near the border trying to frighten the DPRK with the aim of forcing the DPRK to surrender to this major imperialist predator. The victory of the DPRK in the Great Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953 somewhat chastened the United States, but also embittered the power, until then no one except the DPRK could resist. The reason of the might and invincibility of the DPRK lies in the unity of society, the Juches cohesive ideology and Songun politics around their leaders - of Kim Il Sung , the Great Kim Jong Il and now Kim Jong -Un and a high sense of patriotism.
Despite all the difficulties of the present situation the DPRK successfully continues its way to the heights of a prosperous socialist state of a united nation.
Congratulating the people of the DPRK and its leadership on this landmark anniversary, we wish the people of the country yet further progress in achieving the peaks of a mighty socialist state.

THIRD WORLD WAR - ON THE THRESHOLD
Challenges of the XXI Century
In August, the publisher of the Bolshevik newspaper “Workers 'and Peasants' Truth" published a book by the Secretary of the Central Committee of the AUCPB Anatolia Maeyevsky under the title "Ziono-American imperialism in the struggle for world domination. Book 1. The armed forces of the United States."
What was the reason behind the publication of this book?
In the documents of our party, the growing threat of a World War III has repeatedly been pointed out. War is caused by the very nature of capitalism, which at its highest imperialist stage has plunged into ever deeper crisis. To prolong its existence, Zionist -American imperialism has been fighting for the possession of all the Earth's natural resources, especially oil and gas resources along with the struggle for the possession of a cheap labour force.
To this end, the U.S. created the largest military in the world – the striking force of American transnational capital.
In the book, in sufficient detail and popular in form are also considered of the armed forces of the United States, the main types of military equipment and weapons, the armament of the Ground Forces, Air and Naval forces of the USA , and the National Guard and United States Coast Guard. The author tried to convey to the reader that the weapon is not created in order to make it gather dust in warehouses, rusted and then discarded. Weapons are created with the sole purpose - to kill people, to conquer new countries and conquer peoples, enslaving them and making slaves of multinational corporations and banks.
After the Second World War, the U.S. and its NATO allies unleashed dozens of wars and armed conflicts in all regions of the world in which millions of innocent people - women, old people and children were killed. But during that period, in their way to world domination stood the great Soviet Union and the mighty Soviet armed forces, as well as the armed forces of the Warsaw Pact countries, preventing the outbreak of World War III.
After the triumph of the counter-revolution, the temporary defeat of socialism and the destruction of the Soviet Union, the US- NATO fighters unbelted. In recent years alone, bloody aggression has been unleashed against Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. The U.S. Army is ready to unleash another round of aggression - this time against Syria, and only waiting for the decision of the U.S. Congress (09.09.13) and the order of President Barack Obama. After Syria, Iran will follow and then it will be Russia’s turn, with its innumerable natural resources, oil and gas reserves, so desperately needed to maintain the U.S. economy afloat.
In the book, the author had to consider in detail the arms race imposed by the United States on the Soviet Union, the creation of nuclear missiles and the process of disarmament. It was with the greatest exertion of the Soviet people in our country that was founded the mighty nuclear potential, and so the Soviet Union was able to achieve nuclear parity with the United States, which was the fundamental guarantee against another world war, with peace for the world for half a century after the Great Patriotic War and World War II.
But with the destruction of the Soviet Union the situation has changed drastically. Under the guise of concern for the world and the reduction of stocks of nuclear missiles, the U.S. imperialists have violated military nuclear parity and used it for their own ends.
Moreover, the military and political leaders of today's bourgeois Russia, as before with the treacherous Gorbachev leadership of the USSR, are bring led by the US -NATO vultures and destroying the once powerful military potential of the country. As an analysis by military experts of the years 2015-2018 says, Russia has been practically deprived of its nuclear-missile shield (the Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles are simply out of date and will technically fail, yet there are no equivalent replacements). She Russia will not have anything with which to respond the aggression being prepared. In particular, the decision by Vladimir Putin to down the space station "Mir" – the "eyes" and "ears" of the Armed Forces of Russia. Russia closed its radar station in Cuba, eliminated its naval base in Vietnam and now does not have sufficient technical capacity to monitor the oceans, to monitor the movements of the U.S. nuclear-powered submarines armed with ballistic missiles, ready at any moment to drop on Russia. Currently, in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans are 12 "Ohio" nuclear submarines constantly on alert (and two more are scheduled for repair), each equipped with 24 "Trident" ballistic missiles carrying 6-8 nuclear warheads. That is, with one shot, one nuclear submarine is capable of hitting 144 - 192 targets inside Russia.
In 2010, Medvedev signed the treacherous START -3 treaty, which gave the United States unilateral advantages. Under this Agreement, the strategic arms of sea-based cruise missiles, which can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads do not count. There are several thousand of such missiles in service with the U.S. Navy. They are also ready at any moment to carry out a one-sided and unresponsive strike on Russia, because the air and missile defence system of Russia is practically in a state of unfitness.
The threat of war is inexorably approaching, and Russia has almost nothing to defend itself with. This is confirmed by analytical articles of military experts, the data of which is in the book’s appendix, which shows how over the past 20 years the military-industrial complex of Russia has deteriated, and how the armed forces subjected to destruction. Thus, Lieutenant General Sobolev said that out of the 1,800 Russian Air Force combat aircraft, no more than 1200 are ready to take to the air. Russia’s (USSR) ocean naval fleet has been destroyed and now Russia has only one aircraft carrier, while the U.S. Navy has 11 nuclear aircraft carriers, each of which holds from 80 to 110 aircraft. Under Putin and under his directive, the best "Satan" strategic missiles have been destroyed together with the railway missile systems, which the Americans feared most, etc.
But the Americans are getting ready for a war with Russia. All around the perimeter of Russia is surrounded by American (and NATO) military bases, the number exceeding one thousand. NATO in recent years has expanded rapidly in the East and arrived at the borders of Russia, absorbing in its membership the former socialist countries and the Baltic States. Now Moscow and Leningrad are open US-NATO tactical aircraft (to Moscow - 600 km and to Leningrad - 150). But the United States has also tactical nuclear weapons, which are not subjected to any reduction in numbers. It is possible that in the coming war with Russia, these weapons may be used.
We must prepare for war. This is not just a propaganda cliche, but a necessity. If we, Soviet people, the people of Russia do not want to completely lose their freedom and independence, we need to prepare to repel the aggression of US-NATO and this has become the most important issue today.
The Soviet Union under J.V. Stalin did a tremendous job of preparing to repel the fascist aggression. All this enabled our people to withstand the hardest tests of the first months of the war, to prevent the destruction of its armed forces, to preserve the military- industrial potential, to accumulate reserves and, in the end, defeat the enemy.
Now the situation is much worse .
As has been shown above, the current Russian leadership is not only not seriously preparing for the impending aggression, but their actions cause irreparable damage to the country's armed forces. So to prepare to repel aggression must be simultaneously combined with the continuation of our systematic work among the working class, the working and protest movement of workers , forming proletarian class consciousness in this fight, giving the struggle a revolutionary character, directing it to the overthrow of the power of capital, the revival of socialism and the revival of the USSR .
If war is unleashed and Russia will suffer defeat in it (which is possible given the current state of its armed forces), then the task of the Bolsheviks would be to deploy the national liberation struggle and transferring it further over to the revolutionary struggle for the overthrow of bourgeois power in the fight for the final victory of socialism and communism throughout the world.
The book aims to show how seriously the United States are preparing their forces for war, how much they are investing in enormous resources in this preparation, to a high level not only for the specifically military but also ideological and propaganda work in the U.S. Armed Forces; This is to show that before the people of Russia, the entire Soviet people stands the hardest tests.
However, we Bolsheviks have no doubt that in the end, victory is sure to be on our side.

WORKERS AND PROTEST MOVEMENT
Overview of the labour movement (15 - 31 August
(Abridged)
WORKERS AT 'GORENERGO" IN TORZHOK (TVER REGION) ORGANISE PICKET
On August 25 at the centre of the city workers held a picket at MUP Municiple HQ in Torzhka "Gorenergo." The union was forced to take action over the illegal actions of the employer over wage and labour protection in hazardous gas (explosive) production.
In the address of the municipal enterprise, the State Labour Inspectorate for Tver region, RTN and prosecutors repeatedly made provisions and issued penalties over the issue. But the actions by the director of the company were covered up by the administration of the city of Torzhok, and strongly impede the normal administration of the enterprise with the applicable collective agreement in the housing department of the Russian Federation, for which the work provides a real increase in wages.
In addition, the employer in every way ignored the legitimate rights and interests of workers, in particular, the previous director virtually single-handedly initiated and introduced new provisions in the company on pay and bonuses, which deprive workers of different co-payments, and all the issues of paying bonuses are given to the employer only. In an order workers were handed additional agreements to labour contracts and conditions created under which the workers were left with no choice but to sign them.
If the issues put forth at the picket are not resolved, the workers are ready to continue the struggle including taking strike action.

Cooper solves with their customers questions regarding delivery of products from the striking plant, and is trying to do everything to restart the plant as quickly as possible.
The deal between Cooper and Apollo, is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and both companies have repeatedly said that the strike at the plant will not change the decision.

IN COLOMBIA, PROTESTERS ARE DISPERSED WITH TEAR GAS
In Colombia, on August 19, a general strike began. The participants were workers in the agricultural, mining, transportation, and health sectors. The protesters claim that the authorities are not fulfilling their obligations to protect the interests of workers.
The number of protesters was increasing day by day. According to organizers, 150 million people took to the streets across 24 departments of the country. Traffic was paralyzed on 30 highways in 10 departments of Colombia, and Bogota had difficult transport links to a number of administrative centres. In the capital of Colombia police used tear gas to disperse the strikers who were joined by the students of the National Pedagogical University.
In just the first three days of the strike the police arrested 98 people who were accused of acts of violence against members of the government and causing damage to property. IN SOUTH AFRICA, 90,000 CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ON STRIKE
In South Africa, on August 26 about 90 thousand workers in the construction sector went on strike, demanding an increase in wages. "We want an increase by 13 % this year and 14% - in the next, but the employer is offering much less " - said Lesiba Seshoka , a spokesman for the National Union of Miners / DMN /, which also brings together builders. Business owners offered a salary increase by only 6 % in 2013 and by the rate of inflation in 2014.
In South Africa, also currently on strike are about 30,000 workers at seven automotive factories, demanding an increase in wages of 14%. Each day the strike is costing companies an estimated $ 60 million in losses. As a result, employers have been forced to increase its offer from five to ten percent, but workers are not satisfied with the handouts.
The strike affected large car companies like "General Motors", "Toyota", "Nissan" , "Mercedes" , “BMW," “Volkswagen" and “MAN”. Most of the production is concentrated in the city of Port Elizabeth, which is often called the "Detroit of Africa."
Report prepared by the Department of the Central Committee of the AUCPB on interaction with the workers and the trade union movement.

DYING OFF, CAPITALISM IS DESTROYING INDUSTRY
The crisis of Russian capitalism is once again gaining momentum. Added to widespread non-payment of salaries are mass layoffs and suspension of production. Thus our country is "reaping the fruits" of WTO accession. Below is a summary of the most high-profile of problematic situations in July – August this year.
KRASNOYARSK COMBINE PLANT DESTROYED
In July ended with the mass dismissal of workers at the KCP. The equipment was looted and exported. The plant, which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary, has ceased to exist. The area has been leased to the construction company "Siberian" and at the beginning of 2014 will be redeemed for an elite building.

CHELYABINSK MACHINE BUILDING PLANT "STANKOMASH" IS DYING
The Main Department of Labour and Employment of the Chelyabinsk region reported that the plant "Stankomash" informed the authorities about the total staff reduction.
The entire staff at the plant of 1132 employees will be laid off. Already 900 people have been laid off according to the head of the Main Department of Labour and Employment of the Chelyabinsk region Vladislav Smirnov.

DOWNTIME ANNOUNCED AT THE YAROSLAVL GOK
In July, 126 workers were sent on compulsory leave from the main producing sections at the Yaroslavl Mining Company (Primorsky Krai) . The company has not bought the explosives and done the necessary work for the winter stock of rock ore. This means that downtime is inevitable and will continue raising social tensions, as GOK is the main city enterprise.
The same situation exists for YUZHNOURALSKY cryolite plant , also owned by Rusal, which also sent on leave 600 people, and the lasting for a year.

THE OLIGARCH- MARAUDER OLEG DERIPASKA IS KILLING OFF THE PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM
On August 6, he announced his intention to preserve the electrolysis production at five plants owned by the company "Rusal". These are in Bogoslovsky (Sverdlovsk region), Volgograd, Volkhov, Nadvoitsky (Karelia ) and the Urals (Kamensk - Ural) aluminum smelters.
The Volgograd aluminium plant they have already received an official order by management of RUSAL - up to 30 October 2013 to cease production of aluminum, carry out mothballing of plant and cut 90 % of staff. Now the plant has several million of the latest equipment, which had not yet been installed.
The Bogoslovsky aluminium plant, according to trade union activists from there, will be shut down "election day" September 8 - Krasnoturyinsk is to elect a mayor. At the same time production at the Krasnoyarsk aluminium plant has been decreased.
Bogoslovsky aluminium plant production features are such that the process of re-starting "mothballed" plants is likely to fail. The corporation- giant "RUSAL" is in deep crisis, but the management is hiding this, by trying, as usual, to shift their problems over to the workers.
