Ever Onward to Victory!

August 13, 1926 – November 25, 2016

With deep sorrow, the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist) learned that on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 10:29 pm, Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, passed away, aged 90.
RCPB(ML) extends its profound condolences to Comrade Raul Castro, to the Cuban people and their leadership, and to Comrade Fidel Castro’s family on the very sad news of Fidel’s passing.

Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz was leader of the Cuban revolution that has inspired countless millions in their struggle for social progress and a just world. He lived according to the maxim that principles mean more than life itself. Following his death, in the years to come, we are sure that his revolutionary spirit, his humanity and his internationalism, will burn in the hearts of all who are striving for a better world and a human-centred society.
According to Fidel’s wishes, his remains will be cremated and interred in Santiago de Cuba, where the Cuban Revolution began. Beginning today, November 26, nine days of national mourning will continue until December 4. Together, let us mourn Fidel’s passing.

Hasta la Victoria Siempre!
Poem quoted by Fidel
For this freedom that is the right of the youth
For this freedom
As beautiful as life itself
We will have to give our all
If necessary
Even our shadows
And it will never be enough.

Fidel’s spirit lives on

WE WERE saddened to hear of the passing of Fidel Castro, the leader of the Cuban revolution, last week.
Fidel led the revolution that freed Cuba from oppression and US neo-colonial slavery to build a new socialist life of prosperity and happiness for the people on the island. Fidel made an important contribution to modern communist theory. He was also an astute statesman who led the Cuban people through thick and thin to withstand US imperialism’s campaign of sabotage, terrorism and blockade and overcome the US-led campaign of diplomatic isolation.
In words and deeds Fidel stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the national liberation movements that broke the chains of colonialism in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He will always be remembered as an outstanding communist leader whose long life was an inspiration to communists all over the world.
Fidel Castro has died but his spirit lives on in the Communist Party of Cuba and the revolutionary will of the Cuban masses. He will never be forgotten.
