140 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PARIS COMMUNE: A MARCH AND RALLY IN KRASNOYARSK
21.03.2011 11:07
On March 18, the day of the Paris Commune, in Krasnoyarsk, a march and rally, organized jointly by the Revolutionary Patriotic Union of Krasnoyare and the Leninist Young Communist League of the Russian Federation (former YCM of the CPRF).

Komsomol members brought in a number of themes, expressing at the same time their protest at the education reforms. A sudden cold snap affected the turnout, but did not chill the enthusiasm of participants. Mainly composed of young people, the column of marchers moved along the pavement of the central streets of the workers’ Leninsky district – a Prospect named after the newspaper "Krasnoyarsk Worker" – and banging empty pots and pans and blowing whistles, symbolizing the near future of students after the abolition of grants. Attempts by the AUCPB (All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks) Bolsheviks to lead the people onto a usual route along the roadway was unsuccessful, and was met with mass fear by leaders of the Zyuganovite CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and passiveness of ordinary participants in the march.

At the rally, the final polarization of the speakers occurred - about half of them in their speeches stuck mostly to historical subjects and as just as much colourfully painted the future of the students after completion of the education reforms. But that did not stop everyone from speak out. The representative of the AUCPB N.M. Shafranov emphasised the world-historic significance of the Paris Commune, spoke about the importance of the lessons of the first proletarian revolution and the Communist and workers' movement. The main connecting element rally was the thought, in one form or another, and repeated by many speakers that: the Paris Commune made education accessible to all, the school was separated from the church, like the Soviet government in Russia did, but the current bourgeois power in the Russia is returning education to the level of parochial schools, and making it private fee-paying. In conclusion, the Secretary of Municipal Committee of the CPRF A. Nosnikova read out the demands to Prime Minister Putin to cancel the reform of education, raise salaries for teachers and scholarships for students etc.

At the event, AUCPB newspapers “Hammer and Sickle","Thought", "Revolution", and the journal of RPSK (Russian Comsomol) were actively distributed.
