KCNA Warns US-S. Korea of Serious Consequences of Their Saber-rattling


Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- The situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula is reminiscent of the eve of war due to Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises kicked off by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces.
The on-going saber-rattling is arousing deep concern at home and abroad as it is the maneuver for a nuclear war with their huge offensive means involved. It was kicked off under the U.S. scenario for a war of aggression against the DPRK to swallow up the whole of the Korean Peninsula by force of arms in order to put pressure on the East of the Asian continent.
It is obviously actual maneuvers for a nuclear war to invade the DPRK in their offensive nature and scale.
These maneuvers put main emphasis on drills for "eliminating and acquiring WMDs through surprise preemptive strike at the DPRK and the operation to cope with the "contingency" and they are larger in scale.
Participating in these exercises are hundreds of personnel of the 20th Support Command present in the U.S., a unit tasked to rapidly cope with, detect and eliminate WMDs, etc. And naval operation groups including U.S. aircraft carrier and strike flying corps including strategic bombers are getting frantic with maneuvers in the seas and sky.
The south Korean puppet Defense Ministry blustered that the large-scale U.S. reinforcements are involved in the military exercises as they are needed for occupying the north. This fully reveals their aggressive nature.
Nevertheless, the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces are describing the saber-rattling as an annual and usual one for defense. This is shameless rhetoric to cover up the true nature of their maneuvers for a war of aggression against the DPRK.
Those who threw a stumbling block in the way of achieving peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and the region by kicking off the dangerous war maneuvers will have to pay a very high price for them.
Those who like to play with fire are bound to perish therein.

KCNA Denounces US-S. Korea Joint Exercises


Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet warmongers Monday started joint military exercises for aggression Key Resolve and Foal Eagle across south Korea.
Huge armed troops of the U.S. forces and south Korean puppet army are combat-ready and groups for naval operations including a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier are deployed in the waters off south Korea. Strike flying corps including strategic bombers are ready to go into action.
This is another grave move taken by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK and ignite a war, opposed to the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
Herein lies a true aim sought by the group of traitors in south Korea in deliberately torpedoing the preliminary talks for opening the north-south high-level military talks arranged with much effort to defuse the military tension on the Korean Peninsula.
As already known, south Korea has consistently responded with ceaseless frantic war exercises targeted against the DPRK to the proposal for opening wide-ranging dialogue between the north and the south made in the joint statement of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK.
The day following the publication of the statement the Air Operation Command of the south Korean puppet army let gun-ships fly in the sky above Yangphyong area of Kyonggi Province and fire machine guns and missiles, kicking up a war atmosphere. The 5th Infantry Division of the army, a brigade for special warfare of the navy, the 103rd fighter squadron under the 8th combat flying corps of the air force, etc. of south Korea staged field tactical drills, exercises for naval infiltration, dropping bombs and strafing with offensive war equipment involved.
Whenever the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises were staged around the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. blustered that the nuclear-powered carrier George Washington would be dispatched there and it was necessary to cope with somebody's "local war."
This is a blatant challenge and perfidy to the DPRK which has made ceaseless efforts and showed magnanimity to ensure dialogue and peaceful environment on the peninsula.
Key Resolve and Foal Eagle are bound to drive the north-south relations to more serious catastrophe and increase the danger of war on the peninsula.
The army and people of the DPRK will counter with their own-style strike method against those who dare challenge its dignified socialist system through their adventurous joint saber-rattling.

Workers in North and South of Korea Publish Peace Declaration


Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and the Federation of Trade Unions and the Confederation of Trade Unions of south Korea issued a peace declaration of the workers in the north and the south of Korea Monday.
The declaration expressed concern about the touch-and-go situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula. It urged the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to immediately halt the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises.
The north proposed wide-ranging dialogue and negotiations between the two sides. But the military authorities of south Korea kicked off the big maneuvers while calling for taking countermeasure against it, the declaration said. This is aimed to justify the military exercises, it added.
The exercises are a planned provocation to push the north-south relations to the brink of a war and they also reveal an intention to maintain the confrontation policy, the declaration said, adding:
All the Koreans are calling for negotiated settlement to all the issues amid the mounting danger of a war on the Korean Peninsula.
The south Korean authorities should promptly come out for dialogue and negotiations with the north, though belatedly, from a sincere stand for peace and stability of the peninsula.
Calling for active solidarity and exchanges between the workers in the north and the south, the declaration denounced the south Korean authorities for having repeatedly disallowed contacts and visits between NGOs and people of various strata and inflicted legal punishment on them.
The declaration stated that the organizations would hold colorful events including a meeting of workers in the north and the south for reunification and promote solidarity and cooperation between them.
We will wage unflinching actions against those forces standing in the way of contacts, dialogue and cooperation between the workers from the north and the south, it declared.
